Wish I Could Stay A Bit Longer Pt. II

Wish I could stay a bit longer but I’ve much to do
Before the next time we can rendezvous
I should be frustrated but that no longer is true
Because I live for the time I have here with you.

Indeed, time is nothing else but a fleeting thing
A second, ironically, is second to nothing;
Such is the truth behind the diamond ring:
A mutual pledge of every second remaining.

Years ago I even feared the hour-glass
Yet time can’t be hoarded, it shall all pass
And sharing with you makes all the time last –
The difference between if time’s passed or past.

Time is scarce, and non-refundable too;
So it gives meaning and value to whatever I do
Where I was frustrated I found hope anew
Because I live for what time I have here with you.
