Wheel of the Unbroken

Every star that we see in the sky interwoven
Into shapes in the sea and a world that is broken
Could break over me because I chose to believe
By light in your breath of words wrapped in ribbons
As gifts and as debt many were still given
A grace in their death and stripped of cherished regret
And by this they save their soul
By the living love of Christ we lay still upon the stone
To give our life in sacrifice for we are nothing on our own
Break us and make us whole
Your blood gently flowed as soft as smoothest oil
Oh, Catherine you know as it drained in the soil
It nourished my soul and gave me strength to say No
No to the world corrupt and ever-dark
Partly unfurled by you and Joan of Arc
And every girl who protected purity’s pearl
And by this we saved our soul
By the living love of Christ we kept the pearl all alone
To give it up in sacrifice for we are nothing on our own
See us and make us whole
Every star that we see spins like a broken wheel
For the Virgin Mary purifies us into steel
Her crown in the sea rises up to Heaven’s kneel
As she prays to save our soul
By the living love of Christ we kneel before His throne
To give it all in sacrifice for we are nothing on our own
Love us and make us whole
Pray for us, Saint Catherine of Alexandria,
Pray for us.
