Burning Maiden, O Joan of Arc

Burning maiden, O Joan of Arc,

Virgin martyr, for Christ she wed;
God burned His indelible mark;
By light and truth flame-borne, a spark
Inside, inflamed, with Christ she tread,
Burning maiden, O Joan of Arc,
Spotless and chirping meadowlark,
In those who seek her in bloodshed,
God burned His indelible mark.

She cried out that night, her remark,
“Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!” she said,
Burning maiden, O Joan of Arc,
Britain departed for the dark;
She lives in prayer, their church falls dead,
God burned His indelible mark,
For in their deed corrupted stark,
The Holy Spirit took sword’s stead;
Burning maiden, O Joan of Arc,
God burned His indelible mark.
