Sargassum Shores

All I knew were sargassum shores, but
Sargassum never rolls up to yours
I walked on them up to your dunes
I walked to the hum of phasing moons

Whose firmament and crystal spheres
Held its stores of its sacred tears
God touched the upper seas saturnine
They heaved and broke and spilled out brine

And it somehow proved we still had faith
You kept me fed, and I kept you safe
My gratitude proves you must still exist
Like the fear, the fall into a first-won kiss

All I knew were sargassum shores, and
On the sand they made sea-weed floors
I walked on them up to your sands
I heard you stir so I held your hands
