Movement I
Salt strands drape a milk-star nape
Tucked back from black love-despaired waves
Washed wrists thrust for doomed lust’s sake
Movement II
Singed leaves flutter wet grieved wings
Soon crushed and kept lattice-stiff lain
Twice-dead branches watch mute things
Movement III
Earth-bound ribbons glare ’round rock
Wind-wept for dry steps of starved eyes
Searched scorned sun for one green lock
Movement IV
Hate frores listless soak-stalled souls
Whelms kiss the last listless frosthead
Cold strides feared before tide-rolls
