Wicked Balaam, Righteous Lot

Wicked Balaam and righteous Lot,
One who cursed when coin he sought,
One who gave more than he ought.

Wicked Balaam and righteous Lot,
One whose sin destroyed the nations,
One’s sons were sinned generations;
Who escaped angels that slay,
Who invites an angel to stay,
If a donkeys could find thy fault
Or thou turn not to thy pillar of salt
Each drinks his cup but one in vain:
One on the mount, one in the plain,
Wicked Balaam and righteous Lot.

One heard God for naught,
One for Little he fought,
Wicked Balaam and righteous Lot.
