III
People stopped taking the time to wish
I have never in my life wanted to be rich
I feel the sunken dew on checkered plains
My feet were wet with a grassy mange
The meaning walks its opposing rout
The outside within and the inside out
So life’s the debt that by death is paid
But do I have the courage to be afraid
IV
People lose everything so they can win
I don’t dare defend the world we’re living in
I’m puzzled at riddles and games of words
By the river swell that the rain disturbs
I let the itch of water run its course
Is that defeat? no, it’s a kind of remorse
No one both wins and stays the winner
By dawn awake, and I die by dinner
