Cutty Sark to Mission Control, do you copy
We saw an amber cloud engulf the atmosphere
The Earth has never looked so dark, I guarantee
And all the lights have gone from one side of its sphere
Our circuits fried, is something wrong we couldn’t see
Mission Control . . . none of us want to be up here
We knew eternal heaven’s lights would flicker out
But never knew for what the lights were all about
Cutty Sark to Mission Control, we’re floating free
Life support is down and we lost the engines, too
Was Earth darker than what we once believed to be
If it was, then what are we supposed to do
Are we alone, can someone please just roger me
Clear the Cutty Sark to land in Pacific blue
So darkly distance waxes fast the dying star
The sky is close enough to touch from where you are
Cutty Sark to Mission Control, it’s only me
Only Angel Seven can hear the static trace
Genesis was right, the heavens are darkened sea
The ceiling waters toss us round in lonesome space
The world is smaller up above humanity
Little marble blue, and small enough to replace
Mission Control to Cutty Sark, do you copy
When I consider Death, is Death thinking of me
