Shekinah, Hail (The Presentation to the Lord)

The days completed, such the laws proclaim,

A dedication held the eighth of days
To give the Son to God, to give His name,
Consoles the faithful widow; hear her praise:

O glory found in morning reds at dawn,
The hush of lambs, the still of turtledoves,
The solemn march restoring what was gone
Until they lifted up the Son He loves;

Obedience, the oldest mortal joy,
The lack thereof called for sacrifice,
And nothing now could ever save the Boy,
His fate He sealed in law, divine device;

Shekinah, hail! Uniting God to place
Revealed the love You dream, the pain You face.
