27 Jan Presence of Just Two (The Annunciation of the Lord)
Unfurling radiance drew feathers sharp
As thunderclouds arrange a mountain crown
Before the solemn strings of heaven’s harp
Appeared a man by light, inclining down;
He spoke to Daniel hushed in secret nights
In visions carried on marsh-breezes,
And here records the words the Lord delights,
So let it be to me as the Lord pleases.
Holy Spirit, silent Sovereign, Moving One,
Proceeds and coalesces over dark
As beads of royal rain collect and run,
Salvation fills the breadth of the New Ark . . .
The gate between the ages, old and new,
Announced for all, in presence of just two.
