03 Jun Ave Maria – “How Blessed Am I”
“How blessed am I to ever magnify
The glory of a world without end!”
I heard a song was sung, then everyone
Lifted their eyes to the horn of salvation
Draped in the silver of the moon and gold of the sun
She bears a crown of starry down
And its light found its way to me
On a holy wing, she begins to sing
Of everything prophesied in writing
That she’s crushing the dragon, that she’s winning
Now every fear shall disappear
When I hear her voice someday, when I die
Her merciful eyes that will recognize
All the prayers I have sent the Queen
Also see all the prayers that others said for me
They dance and they twist, intertwine, and they mix
Into a sapphire ribbon up above
And in my final hour, I will feel all the power
Of all of the prayers from those I love
All because of the woman I’m speaking of
Every prayer and every praise
Will fall on me in the final days
Like beads of water that run down the leaves
In a sunset’s sunbeams through the trees
How the light refracts and forms a shape
In starry tears of a rainbow’s cape
Blessings of GOD’s unearned grace
Move through my soul and shine on my face
The Word, the Priest, and the Bread
In Judah she saw over her head
The stars that would crown her one day
She pondered in her heart what to say
From womb to womb, witnessed John
She was cedar wood from Lebanon
Almond blossoms where she wept
At the foot of the cross where He slept
“How blessed am I to ever magnify
The glory of a world without end!”
She reaches out her hands and she understands
She has been a mother and friend to me
Ave Maria – most blessed is the Mother of God, Mary
