29 Apr My Daughter’s Idea of Due Process

My first day in Mister Rabbit’s court,
I sat on a polka dot toadstool
And gave a naive retort
Only to be played like a fool.
My lawyer I’d yet to meet,
So I proclaimed my innocence.
Yet every claim was claimed deceit
To a judge already convinced.
Exhibits presented on cookie dough
And my attorney, the garter snake,
Made all this seem laughable so;
That was the root of my mistake.
My case an hour to unravel,
Charges of ineffable depth,
Mister Rabbit swung a carrot gavel,
“I hereby declare you be hugged… to death!“
